The woman behind the lens
Photography is poetry, and I've always written in light.
Hello, I’m Avery
I believe a photograph should feel like the moment sounded.
I’m a thirty-something mama of two and a wifey who’s been snapping photos since basically forever. My camera roll is all skies turning impossible colors, and I take my coffee like I take my life — sweet, but strong.
I’m an Enneagram 2 down to my bones, which is a fancy way of saying my whole heart is wired to make sure everyone in front of me is smiling, laughing, and having the best time. A little awkward? Sure. Goofy? Absolutely. But if you’re up for fun, we’re already going to get along.
That’s really what “photography is poetry” means to me — not posing you to death, but catching the realest, warmest, most you version of your people, and handing it back in color.
What I’m really after
Not the prettiest version of you — the truest one.
A little more about me
I’ve been the one documenting everything for as long as I can remember — I just finally made it my job. Sparkles, sprinkles, wedding cake, and all the coffee keep me going, and I will happily cry right along with you when a moment is that good.
These days I get to stand beside people on some of their best ordinary days — engagements, growing families, the last summer before college — and hand them something they’ll still be holding decades from now.
When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll find me chasing good light, good coffee, and my own little crew around the yard.
A few things I hold to
Comfort first
We start with conversation, not posing. When you feel at ease, the real you shows up — and that's who I want to photograph.
Color that breathes
My editing leans warm and true to life. No trendy filters that'll feel dated next year — just rich, timeless color.
The in-between
The posed shots are lovely, but the magic lives in the glances, the giggles, and the quiet that happens between them.
